Principal’s Message 2013
The year 2013 has opened its doors on the heels of our Easter Term. We are highly expectant as we know our children will be given several opportunities to ensure sound character development. The term will see approximately fifty five of our children sitting the GSAT Examination in March, 2013, our senior students participating in their Sports Day, students taking advantage of the JCDC’s Festival activities, our rising stars showcasing their talents at our Junior Concert, enjoying activities in our Engineering Laboratory (STEM Programme) as well as preparing themselves for our in-house Junior Spelling Bee Competition.

We have also created room for our parents who will be asked to participate in symposiums as indicated on our school’s calendar. The symposiums are geared towards helping us to better prepare our children, which is an opportunity we cannot afford to lose.

The Mona Prep. spirit is indomitable and this is what has been able to propel us to develop a recipe for success that has served us for decades. The Christmas Term (2012) was an indication that this spirit has not been quenched as our children were able to take the top spot in the TVJ’s Junior School’s Challenge Quiz, represent themselves well in swimming and take the title of “Zone Winners” in the Jamaica Independent Schools’ Association’s (JISA’s) Football Competition. Four pupils were also selected for the “All Prep.” Team, as well as our Coach Mr. Nelson.

Term Two (Easter Term, 2013) will require all hands on deck as we have so much to accomplish. One New Year’s resolution of every member of the Mona Prep. Family must be “Get involved in all school activities.” We need volunteers and sponsorship for the Mona Invitational Meet, we need parental support for the track and field season and we need continuous prayers to be offered for our students, especially those sitting the GSAT Examination.

We look to the Lord for His guidance and protection as we work together in the best interest of those we serve: Our Children. Happy New Year to everyone and may we all benefit from the grace of God our Father which is sufficient for us all.
